A Walk Through Life. This body of work represents moments of struggle. It is a reflection of the times in which we live, the environments in which we are raised and the conditions in which we work. The images portray realistic situations based on personal observations and experience as well as stories from the media.

Each image balances and contrasts the next by exploring ideas of escape and entrapment, freedom and imprisonment. The desire to escape in 'A Motive for Change' is contrasted by the suffocating predicament in which the subject in 'Rescue Effort' finds himself. In 'Train Watcher', the worker seeks solitude and comfort in a moment alone, but it is his stillness that resonates with the sadness and awareness of the distress lived by himself and others.

The overwhelming effect of these subjects' surroundings, the predicaments in which they find themselves and the moments of introspection in which they seek escape creates a body of work that encapsulates a diversity of struggle and emotion.

These elements are felt as well in the images void of humans, 'After the Fire' and 'Natural Selection'. In 'After the Fire' we present the charred remains of a home. This space, which was once safe and familiar, has become disrupted, foreign, and dangerous. However, as the sun sets and light enters the room, there is, for a moment, a feeling of tranquility and serenity amongst the wreckage.

'Natural Selection' also encompasses the array of emotions experienced throughout the rest of the works. Fear, isolation, and tension resonate all through this image, as it relates the animal world to our own.

Finally, 'Crematorium' represents our final destination as physical beings by placing the emphasis on two significant aspects of our earthly existence; the lush and mysterious beauty of nature contrasted with manmade structures and ideologies. 'Crematorium' creates beauty out of this difficult subject matter, offering the perspective of a harmonious relationship between nature and man, both elements occupying equal parts of the frame as they do in life.
